0300 hrs. One of my favourite chunks of time. The time when even the liveliest decide to lie down. The most peaceful time of one blatant day. Traffic, people, planes almost everything is still. Even the dumb crows are not cawing. The day is almost over and the only thing left to do is to sleep. Fuck tomorrow. Serenity. Post the routine 1am dinner, two friends are having one healthy discussion. Topics ranging from girls to google, from cars to terrorism, from politics to X-men. Just when they decided to call it a night, one of them pops, WHY ???
What ' Why ' ?
Why does it exist ? The grind of life. Why ? I know they call it Mrityulok, but this is too much. Not too much, per se, but quite close to the mark.
चुप कर चू**ए !!
अबे सुन, चो**नाथ. I am not being cynical or pessimist as such. But look at it, starting at 22, people work for a minimum 9 hrs/day to earn money. The money thus earned, is accumulated to be spent (rather enjoyed) after a period of time, post 50, I presume. But, what then ? What If ? What If not ?
Why not now ? What I mean is, at 22 we are left with a maximum of 6 years of Jawaani, before the Indian Standard Nuptial age of 28. Well, that leaves us with 365 * 6 = 2000 days, roughly. Thats a very small number, dude. 2000 days, really ??
Listen, honest it is, what you said. But even for enjoying this so called 'Jawaani' that you have, you need money, and you pretty well know that. So, either you need to be in the likes of Anil Ambani, to have zillions thrust upon you, or you just shut the fuck up and start working.
That way, you got two options, waste your youth in order to enjoy it and regret at 50. Or toil in your youth to have leisure at 50. None of the options are foolproof. But that is the way it is.
Hey how about this, you can even work real smart and earn enough to start enjoying at 30 itself.
Choice is, and will always be....Yours.
